CROSBYTON (Special) Services for Jerry Herndon, 55, of Memphis will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Revs. Lef Griffin, pastor, and Leroy Gaston, pastor of Memphis´ Travis Baptist Church, officiating.Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.
She died at 7:10 a.m. Thursday in Lubbock´s Methodist Hospital after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Childress and had lived in Ralls and Crosbyton before moving to Memphis. She married W. R. Herndon in 1953 in Tatum, N.M. She had taught high schools in McLean, Lakeview, Estelline, Spade and Crosbyton. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Randall of Bridgeport, and Ronald and Russell, both of Memphis; a daughter, Debbie Wallace of Crosbyton; three brothers, Billy Gandy of Chandler, Okla., Leonard Gandy of Morton and Don Gandy of McAllen; four sisters, Wilma Hill of Austin, Merle Wilson of Georgetown, Chloris Tarleton of Maple and Betty Hodges of Morton; and four grandchildren.

Services for Mr. W.R. �Juicy� Herndon, 78, of Memphis, TX will be at 2:00 PM Monday, March 10, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Boles, officiating. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Crosbyton, TX with Dr. Les Griffin, officiating. Masonic graveside rites will be held in the Crosbyton Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas.
Mr. Herndon passed away Thursday, March 6, 2008 in Amarillo, TX.
Juicy was born on July 27, 1929 in Stonewall County, TX to the late Mr. James Herndon and Mrs. Hester Clark Herndon. He was a graduate of O�Brien High School in O�Brien, TX. He then went on to get a college degree from Draughons Business College in Abilene, TX. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving as Corporal in the Korean Conflict. He married Geraldine �Jerry� Gandy in 1954. She preceded him in death on July 21, 1988. He moved to Memphis, TX in 1974 from Crosbyton, TX. He worked as a field man for General Telephone Company of Southwest for 39 years. Juicy was a member of Emma Masonic Lodge # 931 A.F.& A.M. in Ralls, TX and Past Master of Crosbyton Masonic Lodge # 1020 A.F.& A.M. in Crosbyton, TX. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Memphis, TX. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
He is survived by three sons, Randall Ray Herndon of Victor, MT; Ronald James Herndon of Clarendon, TX; Russell David Herndon of Amarillo, TX; one daughter, Debra Jeanne Hill of Crosbyton, TX; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The body will lie in state on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the First Baptist Church, 300 W. Birch St., Crosbyton, TX from 10:30 AM until service time.
