Gregorio Ruiz Hernandez, 76, of Crosbyton died June 28, 2003. Rosary was said at 7 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2003, at San Jose Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2003, at the same church with the Rev. Leonardo Pahamtang officiating. Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
Gregorio was born Mar. 12, 1927, in Devine. He married Mercedes De Leon Aug. 16, 1950, in Matador. He was an active member of San Jose Catholic Church and a WWII Veteran. He had been employed by the City of Crosbyton for seven years.
He is preceded in death by a son, Fred, in 1990.
He is survived by his wife, Mercedes, of Crosbyton; three daughters, Mrs. Gloria De La Garza of Lubbock, Mrs. Christina Saenz of Katy, and Susie Hernandez of Houston; two sons, Robert of Lubbock and Thomas of Midland; one brother, Rodrigo Hernandez of San Angelo; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
