Crosbyton Funeral services for R.W. "Dub" Griffin, 66, of Crosbyton will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bud Kidwell officiating, and the Rev. Bob Kelley assisting. Burial will be at Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
He passed away on April 21, 2003. He was born June 21, 1936 in Crosbyton. He married Bonnie Lightner Lowe on May 25,1976 in Crosbyton. He was a member of the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church, where he served on the Pastor Parish Relations Committee. He served on the Crosby County Fair Board and the Pioneer Memorial Board. He was awarded the Crosbyton Chamber of Commerce "Citizen Through the Years" in 1991 and the "Man of the Year" in 1998. In 1986, he was awarded the Crosbyton Booster Club Award and the Friends of the 4-H Award. He worked for the DANA Corporation "WIX Filters" division for 38 years and won the "Top Salesman Performance Award" for his company for many years. He lived in Crosbyton most of his life. He is preceded in death by a sister, Jo Anna Richardson of Crosbyton.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and in the Bay of Pigs Invasion. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Griffin of Crosbyton; two daughters, Marcy Brister of Lubbock and Angie Bleacher of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a son, Michael Lowe of White River Lake, Texas; two brothers, Arthur Griffin of Lubbock and Forrest Griffin of Ralls; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; and many nieces, nephews and friends.Pallbearers will by Lloyd Martin, Kenneth Witt, Dwayne Cornelius,George McNeill, Duane Robinson, Euclid Maze,and Mabry Greenhaw. Honorary pallbearers will be DANA Corporation "WIX Filters" employees. Memorials may be made to Crosbyton First United Methodist Church General Fund, P.O.Box 476, Crosbyton,TX 79322.
