Lallie Amanda Griffin, one of this community´s longest residents, was claimed by death at 10:15 p.m. last Wednesday at Crosbyton Care Center. She was 88.,Mrs. Griffin and her late husband, William Henry Griffin, moved to Crosby County in 1914 from Clarksville.
Memorial services for Mrs. Griffin were at 11 a.m. Friday in the Crosbyton Church of Christ. Officiating were Glen Gray, minister, and the Rev. Al Jennings, pastor of First United Methodist Church.
Interment was made in Crosbyton Cemetery. Adams Funeral Home directed arrangements.
Serving as pallbearers were Dee Cash, C. D. Cash, D. J. Moses, Danny Cornelius and Carrol Robertson.
The former Lallie Amanda Morris was born Oct. 26, 1894, in Ellis County. She was married on Dec. 24, 1911, in Lone Cedar to William Henry Griffin, who preceded her in death Sept. 18, 1982.
The family moved to a farm in Wake Community in 1914. The couple made their home at Wake for many years.
Mrs. Griffin was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons, Will D. Griffin of McAdoo and George Griffin of Crosbyton; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Allen Seigler, preceded her mother in death in 1970.
