U.S.Flag CROSBYTON (Special) - Services for George U. Griffin, 61, of Crosbyton will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Ramsey, pastor, officiating.

Assisting will be the Rev. David Treat, pastor of Lubbock´s Agape United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.

He died at 4:30 a.m. Friday at his home. Justice of the Peace Clyde Davis ruled the death due to natural causes.

He was born in Wake and farmed there for 40 years. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He had been a chapter parent of the Mary Beth FHA for 14 years. He married Nelda McMillian on Jan. 28, 1942, in Spur. She died in 1976. He married Frances Hamilton on Sept. 11, 1977, in Crosbyton. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Goodwill Sunday school class and the church´s administrative board.

Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Sheron Watson of Waco, Donna Gillespie of Houston, Eletia Gowens of Crosbyton, Tressie Odom of Amarillo, Phyllis Monde of Sweetwater and Ginger Hamilton of Dallas; a son, Jeffrey Hamilton of California; a brother, Will D. of McAdoo; and 11 grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.
