Merritt Allen Graham, a McAdoo resident since 1935, was claimed by death last Thursday, June 30, in Highland Hospital in Lubbock following a lengthy illness. He was 76.Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the McAdoo Methodist Church. Officiating were the Rev. Lanny Wheeler, pastor of the Hart Methodist Church in Hart, and the Rev. Phillips Lopes, pastor of McAdoo Methodist Church.
Interment was made in Crosbyton Cemetery, under direction of Adams Funeral Home.
Born June 28, 1901 in Plano, Merritt Allen Graham was married to the former Lena Belle Vanderford on June 1, 1922 in Roscoe. The couple moved to McAdoo in 1935.
Mr. Graham was a member of the McAdoo Methodist Church and was a 32nd Degree Mason, holding membership in Spur Loge #1023. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Lena; one son, Jack T. Graham of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one brother, Ellsworth Graham of Roscoe; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: William Gardner, Coy Powers, Eldon Wiliams, Bill Young, Donald Harris, and George Neaves.
The family requests memorials be made in the form of contributions to their favorite charity.
