Services for Donna Gillespie, 49, of Crosbyton will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday February 14, 2001, at Crosbyton First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bud Kidwell officiating.Burial was in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
She died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, in a Ralls nursing home.
She was born March 2, 1951, in Lubbock.
She married Ben Gillespie July 25, 1979, in Houston.
She was a member of Crosbyton First United Methodist Church. She was a 1969 graduate of Crosbyton High School. She attended Texas Tech University and Lubbock Christian University. She was a member of the Texas Press Association, Panhandle Press Association, Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1680, Crosbyton Parent Teacher Organization, where she was past president and the Band Booster Club. She was aloso Co-owner and Advertising Director of the Crosby County News and Chronicle. She moved to Crosbyton in 1986 from Houston.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Nelda Griffin on November 6, 1976, and by her father, George Griffin on June 19, 1987.
Survivors include her husband, Ben Gillespie of Crosbyton; a son, Chad Gillesie of Crosbyton; a daughter, Allison Gillespie of Crosbyton; a stepson, Marcus Gillespie of Maryville, Mo., two stepdaughters, Shannah Aden of Alexandria, Va., and Angela Baker of Richardson; three sisters, Sharon Watson of Waco, Eletia Gowens of Crosbyton and Tressie Odom of Amarillo; and eight stepgrandchildren, Sarah, Bradley, Sam, Clay, Thomas, Amber, Asia, and Aaron; and several loving nieces and nephews.
