Mrs. Rita Aline Edwards of Crosbyton succumbed at 10:09 a.m. Saturday in Oak Cliff Medical and Surgical Clinic in Dallas following a lengthy illness. She was 64.

Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Johnnie Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery, under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers were: Johnnie Wilson, Johnny Harkins, Gary Mitchell, Si Swindall, Gene Dewbre, J.D. Sheer, Kenneth Stegall, Charles Wallace, and Bob Hardin, T.J. Taylor was an honorary pallbearer.

Mrs. Edwards was a retired nurse.

The former Rita Aline Rhea and Floyd Homer Edwards were married Oct. 20, 1934, in Ennis. He died Nov. 27, 1975.

The couple moved to Crosbyton in 1951 from Crawford. Mrs. Edwards was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Crosbyton.

Survivors include two sons,Allison Edwards of Lubbock and Floyd Edwards Jr. of Plainview; three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Mosley of Palmer, Mrs. Phyllis Clark and Mrs. Julia Edwards, both of Lubbock; a step-daughter, Mrs. Frances Nicks of Henrietta; a brother, Jack Rhea of Ennis; three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Thomas of Snyder, Mrs. Alice Kelly of Fort Worth, and Mrs. Julia Lawson of Dallas; 21 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
