Services Slated Today for Fred Edwards, 59

Funeral services for Fred Edwards, 59, will be held today, Thursday, at 3:00 p.m. at Crosbyton First Baptist Church. Mr. Edwards died at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday at Crosbyton Clinic Hospital following a heart attack Saturday morning.

Mr. Edwards was Conoco consignee for the Crosbyton area.

Rev. Virgil Chron of Cone will conduct the services, assisted by Rev. Wayland Boyd, local pastor. Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of King Funeral Home.

Born Oct. 1, 1899 at Speedwell, Tenn., Mr. Edwards moved to Crosbyton in 1909 with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Edwards. His father was a former mayor of the city.

Survivors include the wife, Lucile; two sons, Freddy, a deputy sheriff of Lubbock, and Don, of Hansford, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Roland Mize, Petersburg; five brothers, Bill of Scotsdale, Ariz.; Harris, T.B. (Skinny) and Wayland (Punk), all of Lubbock, and Jim of Lamesa, and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Alvin Alexander, Clevie Maze, Billy Kirk, Kelton Winegar, A.L. Winegar, Wilton Seigler and J.W. Criswell, all of Crosbyton, and J.C. Jones of Lorenzo.
