Rites Held For Mrs. Emma Edler, Pioneer Settler
A Crosby pioneer passed from the scene with the death of Mrs. Emma Edler, 94, in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital at 4:30 p.m., September 21. She died after a lengthy illness.Funeral services were held in the First Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Friday. Rev. Carlton Thomson, pastor, officiated.
Mrs. Edler first moved to Crosby county from Kansas in 1916. She has lived on a farm six miles north of Crosbyton ever since. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Miss Alverda Edler, Crosbyton; Mrs. C.E. Reynolds, Colton, Ore.; Mrs. O.W. Matthews, Crosbyton; Mrs. Bertha Mullen, San Angelo; and Mrs. W.R. Shipman, Tulia; six sons, O.J. and Ralph, both of Lubbock; Mack, Santa Cruz, Calif.; Don, Perryton; and Forrest and Earl, both of Crosbyton; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of King Funeral Home.
