Wayne Dobson was born Ocrober 22, 1932, at Alvord and came to Crosby county in 1937. He was high point boy in his Crosbyton graduating class. He was first employed by the Review August 8, 1948, before entering the army and serving as a corporal. Like his wife, Wanda, he is a member of the Church of Christ. A member of Silver Falls Golf Club and the Quarterback Club, he is a football fan but says his hobbies are golf and working in the yard.

Jeryl Wayne Dobson, Sr. passed away July 10, 2008 in Longview, Texas after a brief illness. Mr. Dobson was born October 26, 1932 in Alvord, Texas to Frank and Leola (Powell) Dobson. He grew up in Crosbyton, Texas and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Wanda Dell Hickman on March 29, 1958 in Crosbyton. He and his family moved to Carthage, Texas in 1977. Mr. Dobson served as a District Court Reporter for Panola and Shelby Counties. After his retirement, he and Wanda moved to Longview.
Funeral services for Mr. Dobson will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton with Terry Ellison officiating. Burial was followed in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Dell Hickman Dobson of Longview, a son and daughter-in-law; Jeryl W. Dobson, Jr. and Wendy, of Longview, a daughter and son-in-law; Starla and Joseph Morgan of Keller, Texas, two grandsons; Zachary Morgan of Shreveport, La., and Barron Dobson of Longview, a granddaughter; Lauren Morgan of Keller, three sisters; Eva Payne of Lubbock, Marie Stanton of New Castle and Melba Hickman of Hereford and numerous nieces and nephews.
