Services for Mrs. J.R. Atchison Are Set For Today

Funeral services for Mrs. J.R. Atchison, 69, will be held today, Thursday, at 3 p.m. at the Crosbyton Church of Christ, with Cline B. Drake, minister, and Leonard Dennis, McAdoo, officiating.

Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Atchison died at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday at her home following an extended illness. Born Jan. 17, 1886, in Bosque County, Texas, she moved with her family to Crosby County in 1918 from Haskell County. They farmed until 1935, when they moved to Crosbyton.

Survivors include the husband; three daughters, Mrs. C. P. Gowens and Mrs. Odell Justus, Crosbyton, and Mrs. Alton M. Gresham, Fort Worth; a son, Alonzo Atchison of Crosbyton; two sisters, Mrs. Susie Vines of Tyler and Mrs. Ezie Summers of Comanche; four brothers, Virgil and W.T. Hanes, Comanche, D. F. Hanes of Wilson and Cecil Hanes of Snyder, 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
