Malcom Albert Adams was born May 15, 1874 in Lonoke Co., AK, to James Goodrum and Martha S. (HOPPER) ADAMS. He spent his childhood on a farm near Cabot, AK.
When he was a young man he volunteered for service in the Spanish American War. He was assigned to 2nd Arkansas Infantry, Company G. He served one year and after contracting typhoid fever, he was given a medical discharge as Corporal. To recover from his illness he went to visit a sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny (Cora Adams) BOYD on Carretas Ranch in the State of Chihuahua in Mexico. There he met Eula Corra Ingle, daughter of Peter James and Betty (YOUNGBLOOD) INGLE. Eula was born October 26, 1879, near Grandview, Johnson Co., TX.
On August 3, 1899, the REV. J. C. G. R. PATTON, a Methodist minister, married the young couple in the home of her parents in Granview. They left immediately to establish their home near Cabot, AK on the Adams´ farm. They lived there until sometime in 1903 ,then moved to Andrew Co., to manage ranching for the Boyd Family. There were no towns in the county; the nearest town was Midland, 50 miles by wagon or buckboard.
In 1907 or 1908, the family moved to Scurry Co., where Adams farmed near Dermott. They soon moved to Snyder where he had bought Snyder Mercantile Furniture and Undertaking. The year 1913 found the family moving to Jones Co. to manage other Boyd land. There were about 10 sharecroppers.
January 26, 1926, the family bought a 420 acre farm five miles west of Happy, Swisher Co. In 1931 Adams and Pete SZYDIOSKI traded farms, and the family moved three miles west of McAdoo in Pansy Community. On March 21, 1939, Malcom suffered a stroke while he and Eula were spending the winter in San Antonio. Later that year the family moved him to Crosbyton into a house owned by the late W. H. NICKSON where Mrs. Sam MARTIN now lives. Malcom wanted to be back in Crosbyton where his friends could see and visit him. He died Nov. 11, 1939, and is buried in the Crosbyton Cemetery.
Eula moved to Compton, CA, in August, 1940. Two of her sons were living there. M. A. went with her so he could find "defense work". She lived there 21 years, moving back to Crosbyton in Jan. 1961. Later she moved to Arlington Villa, a Senior Citizens Home, in Arlington, TX. In Oct. 1969, she became ill, and the family moved her to Bridgeport Hospital where she died Nov. 24, 1969. She is buried beside her husband in Crosbyton Cemetery.
The children born to this couple are James Ingle, Charles Lester, Corrie Elizabeth, Ida Madeline, Cora Virginia and M. A. ADAMS.
James Ingle ADAMS was born June 19, 1900, he married Hilda (HERRON) KNUDSEN June 27, 1965. They did not have children.
Charles Lester Adams was born Sept. 21, 1902, and lives at Seadrift, married Ester Julia LUNDGREN Feb. 23, 1924. Ester died Oct. 18, 1975, and is buried at Seadrift. Two children were born to this couple, Charles Malcom, born in Point Comfort, and James Gordon ADAMS, born in Chester, AK.
Corrie Elizabeth ADAMS was born Nov. 20, 1904, lived at Roby and married Garrett Frank HOLCOMB Nov. 5, 1921. He died Aug. 2, 1951, and is buried at Rotan. They had two children, Dolores Lavon HOLCOMB, born at Gardenia CA., and Jackie Layne HOLCOMB, born at Roby.
Ida Madeline ADAMS, born Sept. 19, 1911. She married Arlie Dean FEWELL Dec. 17, 1930. They have two daughters, Eulalia Gwendolyn FEWELL, born in Crosbyton, and Ophelia Arlene FEWELL, born in Los Altos, CA.
Cora Virginia ADAMS was born Mar. 10, 1916, lived in Houston. She married Charles Peyton AUFILL Sept. 22, 1933. He died March 14, 1976. They had two children, Patsy Lynn AUFILL, born in Cypress, TX. and Don Peyton AUFILL, Houston.
M.A. Adams was born May 13, 1918, lived in Long Beach, CA. He married Fern EGBERT April 16, 1948. They did not have children.

CROSBYTON (Special) Mrs. Eula C. Adams, 90, a longtime resident died at 10:30 a.m. Monday in a Bridgeport hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church here, with the pastor, the Rev. Lee Crouch, officiating. Burial in Crosbyton Cemetery will be directed by King Funeral Home.
A native of Johnson County, Mrs. Adams moved to the McAdoo community in 1930. She resided there until 1941, when she moved to California. In 1960, she moved back to Crosbyton and lived here until 1967, when she went to live in the Village Senior Citizens Home in Arlington. She had been in the hospital for about a month at the time of her death.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Madeline Fewell of Crosbyton, Mrs. Virginia Aufill of Houston and Mrs. Corrie Holcomb of Roby; three sons, James of Slayton, Ore., Charles of Seadrift and M.A. of Long Beach, Calif.; eight grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
