Tony Cantu photoAntonio “Tony” Cantu, 63, of Cone passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016. He was born June 13, 1952 in Mission, Texas to Luis and Ramona (Garcia) Cantu. He married Margaret Lira on January 8, 1972 in Ralls, Texas. Tony loved everything about being a cowboy- from calf roping to horseshoeing to team roping and enjoyed working cattle every chance he could get. He loved his grandchildren dearly and treasured the time he spent with them.

Tony is survived by his wife, Margaret Cantu of Cone; his daughter, Kendra Leigh Cantu of Lubbock; two sons; Anthony Cantu Jr. of Ft. Worth and Willie Joe Cantu of Dallas; two brothers; Augie Cantu of Crosbyton and Juan Cantu of Houston; and six grandchildren; Nathan Cantu, Acey Cantu, Zoe Ramirez, Zadryan Ramirez, Zachary Cantu, and Zaliyah Cantu.

He was preceded in death by his father, Luis Cantu; his mother, Ramona (Garcia) Cantu; and his brother, Ismael Cantu.

A rosary will be held at 7 pm Friday, January 22, 2016 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Ralls. Funeral Mass will be 10 am Saturday, January 23 at St. Michaels Catholic Church, with Father Samuel Oracion officiating. Burial will follow in Cone Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
