Graveside services for Rachel Gott Henry Bierman, 91, of San Antonio, TX, were held Saturday, September 11, 1993, at 11 a.m. at the Cone Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Morrow officiating.
Interment was directed by Schaetter Funeral Home of Fredericksburg, TX.
Mrs. Bierman died Tuesday, September 7, 1993, at the Normandy Terrace Nursing Home in San Antonio, TX.
She was born July 3, 1902 in Cone, TX to Chadwick Gott and Mamie Kropp Gott. She married Curtis Buie Henry Nov. 11, 1922. After the early death of her husband, she moved to Ralls to raise her family. She later moved to Lubbock and worked for American Optical and Furr Foods.
While in Lubbock, she married William (Bill) Bierman of Whiteface, TX. They moved to Whiteface and later to Andrews, TX, until their retirement when they moved to Fredericksburg, where they lived for 25 years.
She was a member of the Methodist Church of Fredericksburg until her transfer of membership to the Evangelical Free Church of Fredericksburg. She was church organist for many years and a devoted volunteer to the nursing homes in Fredericksburg. TX.
In her later years, it was necessary for her to share her time with her daughter and families in San Antonio and with her son and family in Alvin, TX.
She had been in the Normandy Terrace Nursing Home in San Antonio for the past seven years.
She is survived by her daughter, Bobbie Nell Henry Marlar, of San Antonio; her son, Billy Max Henry and wife , Sammy, of Alvin; granddaughters, Donna Marlar English and husband, Connie, of San Antonio; Toni Henry Heath and husband, Chip, of Alvin; Niki Henry Schlotzhauer and husband, Alan, of Houston; one grandson, Tommie Lynn Marlar of San Antonio; four great- grandchildren, Dawn English Mechler and husband, Jeff, of San Antonio; Brian English of San Antonio; Zachary and Taron Heath of Alvin; two great-great- grandchildren, Bailee and Curtis Mechler of San Antonio; and a niece, Johnny Ruth Tarleton of San Angelo.
Pallbearers were Tommie Lynn Marlar, Connie English, Brian English, Jeff Mechler, Allen Schlotzhauer, and Chip Heath.
