CROSBYTON (Special) — Services for Bennie Sikes, 68, of Crosbyton will be at 2 p.m. today at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Williams, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of King Funeral Home.

Sikes died Thursday at Crosbyton Clinical Hospital following a lengthy illness.

A native of Waco, Sikes moved to Crosbyton about 48 years ago.

He married Maybell Beachem July 9, 1943 in Crosbyton.

Sikes was a laborer and a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, J.B. of Grand Prairie, James Henry of Crosbyton and Bennie Earl of Los Angeles, Calif.; a step son, Edward Woods of Los Angeles; a brother, David Sikes of Crosbyton; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Adams and Mrs. Dollie Jones, both of Monahans; two half-sisters, Mrs. Lena Alexander of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Mary Bray of Midland; nine grandchildren and a great grandchild.

CROSBYTON (Special) Services for Maybell Sikes, 92, of Crosbyton will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Crosbyton with the Rev. H.L. Phillips officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.

She died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, in Crosbyton Hospital.

She was born July 20, 1907, in Blossom. She married Bennie Sikes on July 7, 1943, in Crosbyton. He died Aug. 12, 1976. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Crosbyton and the Order of Eastern Star. She moved to Crosbyton in 1925. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons, Edward Woods of Crosbyton, James Sikes of Lubbock and Bennie Earl Sikes of Los Angeles, Calif.; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
