Funeral services for Mary Silmon Beacham, 86, of Crosbyton were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21 in the Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Crosbyton with Rev. Frank Williams, pastor officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Beacham died about 9 a.m. March 16 in the Crosbyton Hospital Clinic following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 26, 1892[tombstone reads 8/26/1878] in Texarkana, Arkansas and married Matt Beacham. He preceded her in death in 1934.
She was a housewife, a member of the Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was the oldest mother of the Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She moved to Crosbyton in 1925.
Survivors include one daughter, Maybell Sikes of Crosbyton; one sister, Ester Hunt of Lawton, Okla.; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
