Concho Resident Last 27 years Buried

Paint Rock, June- Miles LaFayette Wood, resident here
since 1906, was buried in the local cemetery this afternoon, services being
conducted from the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. L. D. Hardt, Methodist
minister, officiating. Mr. Wood died here at 9 o'clock Wednesday night after and
illness of several days. He was 79 years old.
Mr. Wood first settled in Texas in Bell county, residing there
a number of years before coming to Concho county in 1906. He was firs t married
to Miss Turissa Wooley, who died in 1911. In 1916 he was married to Mrs. Bettie
Tomerlin. Two daughters, Mrs. Eva Nelson of Moody and Mrs. Elmer Tharp of San
Angelo, and a son Austin Wood, of Paint Rock, survive. There are also two
brothers, J. H. of Zephyr, Texas, and T. P. of Paris, Tenn. and a sister, Mrs.
Bettie Smith of Gleason, Texas, and four grandchildren.
