P. REED

P. Reed, 80, of Mertzon, To Be Buried Here Fri.
    Funeral services will be held tomorrow, Friday, afternoon here at 2 o'clock for P. Reed, who lacked only a few weeks of being 80 years old, and who passed away this morning at Shannon Hospital, San Angelo.
    Mr. Reed's home was at Mertzon. he and his family moved away from Eden in 1922, but one son , Will Reed, and some other relatives still reside here. His death was due to cancer in the stomach. An operation was performed Monday in the hopes of prolonging his life, but to no avail.
    He is survived by his widow, five sons, and four daughters, some of whom came to Eden today to help complete funeral arrangements. At this time, all details have not been attended to, so cannot be given here but it is understood that the Masons will have charge of ceremonies.
