REV. W. H. MCGEE

Angeloans recall the service of the Rev. W. H. McGee, one of the oldest
ministers in Texas in the pulpit of the First Baptist Church here from 1888 to
1894. The Rev. Mr. McGee, 87, died at Lampasas Tuesday night. Funeral services
are to be held there at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, friend here have been
notified.
The Rev. Mr. McGee conceived and organized the Concho
Valley Baptist Association, which missionary is still functioning. Mrs. McGee
died here and was buried in the old cemetery, later abandoned and converted into
the present high school athletic field. The body was removed to Lampasas when
the cemetery was abandoned. Surviving are a son, W. B. McGee, president of the
First National Bank of Lampasas and a daughter, Mrs. McGregor of Dallas.
