Clark C. Compton.  I have inherited many pictures (some identified) and other materials of Samuel H. HANCOCK, b. 6 Dec 1855, d. 17 Jan 1911.   He and his family were farmers in Comanche Co.   Other materials include warranty deeds, abstract title, a list of Hancock family members dated 1949.  All of this material came from my Aunt Charlotte Hancock CLARK.   I am not researching nor do I intend to research this family.   If someone is interested in this material I would be glad to send it.   (Family members preferred.)   Charlotte Hancock was married to my Uncle, Sidney Arlington Clark, in 1916, Ft. Worth TX.   They are both deceased.

Vickie L. Belt.  I am looking for information on Moke Lander BAILEY and Bessie Lee FARR married in Comanche County 18 Jan. 1893. They buried a child at Victor Cemetery, Feb 1898. other children born to the couple were in the area until at least 1914 when daughter Addie Bailey married Horace WHITESIDE in DeLeon, TX.  I am most interested in the family of Bessie Lee Farr and the history before her marriage.

[email protected]  my grandmother Sarah Verda LEWIS was born in Newburg, in 1905 her parents George Henry Sr and Mary Rebecca WILLIAMS were married in Comanche Co., in 1904 and his father Pastor George Archelous Lewis died in 1920 in Comanche Co., and is burried in Newburg and so is his father Benjamine P. Lewis died in 1895 and is burried in Newburg other than George I cannot find any more information on Benjamine.  Maybe you can help.

Douglas Braden My Great Grand father was Rev. Robert Kenyon THOMPSON.  He was a Methodist Preacher in Comanche County at one time, and he is buried in Greenleaf Cemetery, Brownwood, with his wife Nancy Ophelia GUISE Thompson and several of his children . Three of his 10 children were born in Comanche County TX:  Elbethal 1879, Maggie 1881, and Rev. Thomas Sewell Thompson 1883. It is quite possible that several of his kids stayed, married and died and are buried there.  I am also looking for the BREEZE family.  My mothers youngest sister, buried in Brownwood, was married to a Col. Fredrick Breeze, who is buried in the Punchbowl National Cemetery.

Pat Morris.  I need the name of the Parents of Dan M. MORRIS--he was in the 1910 US Census Comanche,Co. Texas, Head of house, at age 39. b.14 April 1871 d.18 April 1928.  Ida MORRIS wife b.1 March 1873. The Census has father from Alabama.  Thank you for the help.

Mary Ann Putt. Seeking descendants of Charles Redfield REA (1853-1926). In 1880 he and his mother, Rachel MCWILLIAMS REA moved to the Hamilton/Coryell County area from Mississippi.  The information I have states he married Nancy CASS or Nanny THOMPSON or THOMERSON in early 1880s. Children are Loshepell REA RICHARDSON, Walter REA, Ozell REA FANNIN, Wynona REA PRATHER,  Daltis REA, and Leslie REA. Charles died in 1926 in Floydada Texas and is buried in the Gentry Cemetery in Hamilton. What happened to his wife?  Divorce? Widowed? All information on this family is appreciated.

Patsy Pittman.  I was told that Lester H. PITTMAN was killed in a car accident 11 Oct 1941 in Sidney, Texas. Could there be a newspaper clipping or some proof of this? Thanks.

Bernard Pyron.  A lady in McCulloch county who is part of a genealogy group in Brady helped me on a search for the full name of the husband of one of my great
aunts, Annie PYRON McGONAGILL (1850-1936), who is buried in Melvin cementary in that county.  I'm a grandson of Annie's brother.  The family knew that grandfather and his three sisters were orphaned in about 1860 when both parents died.

The McCulloch county lady, Ann Hoff, sent me a file from genealogy.com which includes information on Annie's younger sister, Angelina, born about 1853. A note attached to the info on great aunt Angelina by Mrs. King Ewell Jones of Stephenville, Texas says Angelina went to Texas from Arkansas in an ox cart with a brother and two sisters. The note says "Abt 1866 ox cart, Ark to Texas with brother and 2 sisters...ran away from Uncle with his gun and ox cart."  That all four Pyron orphans left Arkansas  for Texas together, if true, is interesting, because a great grandson of Annie Pyron McGonagill told me recently that Annie was in an orphanage in New Orleans. Angelina may have been there also.

There is a possibility that Mrs. King Ewell Jones, the one who posted this information on ancestry.com, is the "King Ewell Jones" age 98 listed in the online White Pages for Stephenville, Texas.  I hate to contact a 98 year old woman asking for her source for the information on Angelina.  Maybe I can find other descendants of great aunt Angelina who can tell me about what they know of the history of Angelina Pyron STEWART before she arrived in Texas, and/or something about the note Mrs Jones put on ancestry.com. If the dates for aunt Angelina on ancestry.com are right, Mrs Jones could have gotten the information from her grandmother, Angelina, who was alive until 1950.

Ancestry.com says Angelina  Zulema Pyron was born Oct 20, 1853, probably in Mississippi, and died June 14, 1950, and is buried in Pendergrass Cemetery in Sidney, Texas. She married Charles Harrison Stewart (1843-1929) in Sweet Home, Lavaca county, Texas in 1871.  They lived in a number of places in Texas and apparently ended up, or she ended up, in Comanche County.  My interest might be in their two sons who are also buried in Pendergrass cemetary in Sidney, Samuel Lane Stewart (1879-1947) and Leslie Gordon Steward (1887-1974).  Mrs King Ewell Jones might be a daughter of Leslie Gordon.  Maybe there are descendants of Leslie Gordon Stewart or Samuel Lane Stewart still living in Comanche county.

As far as I know Angelina and Charles Stewart had a total of 9 children:
Ella Mary, 1871-1940
Nancy, 1871-1942, apparently twins
Alice 1877-1962, died at age 85
Samuel Lane, 1879-1947, died at 68
Angie, 1884-1971, died at 87
Leslie Gordon, 1887-1974, died at age 87
Charles Roe, 1890-1945, died at only 55, one exception
Delbert Dee, 1892-1963, died at 71
William Homer, 1894-1973, died at 79

James Coston.  I have a relative buried in the Pendergrass Cemetery outside Sidney.  Question, is there anyone that will take a foto of her tombstone and email it to me for a fee???  I have her death certificate, Elizabeth Jane Langham d:1832, and it states Pendergrass as internment.  I haven't been  able to find a registry of that cemetery anywhere. I can't even grarantee there is a tombstone but as graves go, that one is relatively recent.

Robert Alexander.   My great grandmother Ada Frances Bostick was born in Comanche County in 1894.  She is shown in the 1900 Census living in Justice Precinct 5.  Below is a photo taken about 1899 in Cisco.  Can you help with this area?  I'd just like to know about where they lived.  Ada's father, mother, and a sister died in 1907, just possibly a couple of days apart, apparently from some type of fever.

Joe Williams.  I am very interested in tracking down my current living Family descendants of "JOHN HORTON WILLIAMS and LUCY TUNNELL."  They were married around 1877 in Comanche.  They had a large group of kids, but I don't have a good track on current possible living descendants.  John Horton Williams was older brother of my grandfather, Ben J. Williams.  I am a Texas guy (now live in Hawaii) who didn't know about these people until very recently so any help really appreciated.

Patricia Peterson.  My gggrandmother died in Comanche, Texas on 4 Nov 1884.  I find her on the 1850, 1860, 1870, and 1880 census records in Texas, but I need a clue to her parents.  Her name: Matilda Jane KEPPLER CAYWOOD LEONARD.  Is there a ghost of a chance that there would be an obit  from 1884?  any other records you can think of?  Grateful for your time.
