MILITARY RECORDS

For most Texas military informantion, go to the Texas Archives.  If your ancestor fought in the Civil War, but moved to Texas afterwards, their military pension records might also be at the Texas Archives. 

Earliest Texas military records begin in 1835.  Beginning in 1919, military discharge records can be found at the local county courthouse.
