Aberdeen African American - Kildare - SW from McLeod on FM 125 for 3 miles.  Turn left onto CR 4448.  After 1.6 miles turn onto CR 4455.  At 1.5 miles go due South on CR 4449.  Cemetery is .7 miles around a curve and on the left. Church is on the right.  This is one of several small cemeteries in the Rambo Area between McLeod, Texas and Vivian, Louisiana. Rambo is its closest community, however like all of its surrounding communities it mailing address is Bivins, Texas. Its burials are those of well recognized surnames of the African-American communities in both areas. A fully functioning church sits just across the road from the cemetery and services are still held weekly and the grounds of the church and cemetery are well maintained by the congregants. The cemetery is approximately one half acre of land in the curve directly across from the church.

Allen Family African American - This cemetery is located off CR 1587 (old Avinger - Hughes Springs highway) west of Avinger. This is located on the family homestead of Robert Allen.
Alamance Baptist Church Cemetery From the red light at Louise & hwy 77 in Atlanta, go east on hwy 77 for 2.5 miles to CR 4683.  Go 1.1 miles to CR 4680. Turn rt on CR 4680 and go .2 miles Alamance Baptist Church & Cemetery
Antioch (Anti) African American - About 8.8 miles W of Queen City from the intersection of hwy 59 & 96.  Take hwy 96 to CR 2791.  Alternate route: From hwy 59 take CR 2791 for 6.7 miles.
Antioch (New) From Linden take hwy 59 S 4.8 miles to Lanier Friendship Church. Turn rt in front of the church on CR 1635. Follow the signs to the church & cemetery. The cemetery is behind the church.
Atlanta See Pinecrest
Atlanta Colored We are not sure, but think this is an old section of the Atlanta/Pinecrest cemetery. There are no stones left standing in this cemetery.

Stay on 1123 until it goes back to the rt, and go straight ahead and you will be on 1122. Not far on 1122, Barnes Cemetery should be on the rt. (Latitude 330344N and Longitude 0941953W)
Bartlett In the Turkey Creek Community.  Turn north off Hwy 49 at the Turkey Creek Church, CR 2993, for .3 mile, turn right on 1579 for .2 mile.  The cemetery is on right in a pasture on private land.
Barton/Old Barton Between Linden & Hughes Springs, but probably no longer exists. Exact location is unknown
Bates Family Farm On private property in the Floyd Valley area located about 3 miles off Hwy 1399.
AKA Baucus Springs
About a mile from Baugus Cemetery. At the intersection of FM 251 and FM 125 go 3.5 miles to CR 4448.  Turn right on CR 4449 and you will see the cemetery in a clump of trees near th curve on the east side about .3 miles from the intersection with CR 4447.  About 50 ft square with an iron pipe post with a barbed wire fence.  (Just off CR 4449 about 30 yards from the road)

Bear Creek (New) From Linden on Highway 59 south, take highway 155 west for 6.7 miles. Turn left on CR 1631, and then left again on CR 1632 to church and cemetery.   
Bear Creek (Old) from Hwy 155 in the west edge of Linden, turn southwest on CR 1617. Continue until you intersect with CR 1626. Turn right, Tabernacle and Cemetery on right just a short distance from intersection. (You can continue on 1626 on to New Bear Creek Church and Cemetery and back to 155 from there if you wish.)

Ben Royal Black - From the intersection of Hwy 11 and 49 east of Hughes Springs, go east toward Avinger for 1.4 miles.  A faint road to the left not accessible by automobile leads into the woods on ROYAL land for about a half mile.  This cemetery is fenced. There is one row of graves and probably other unmarked graves.  Started in 1916 and contains the graves of ten members of the Ben ROYAL family.

African American - at Doss Community, north of Hughes Springs near Holly Springs. From Nickleberry, which is located south of Marietta, go southeast on CR 1399. At CR 2367, take a left. The cemetery will be on the right, not far off of CR 1399.

Bethel/Bethlehem African American - From Linden, travel Hwy 59 south approximately 6 miles. Turn right on County Road 1639, go 0.7 mile. Cemetery is on the left. There are no signs and only a few headstones are visible from the road.

Bivins Community From Atlanta go to Bivins. At the intersection of Hwy 43 & 248 in Bivins turn left at the cemetery sign and the cemetery is .2 miles on the right.
Blackwell See Bethleham (at Red Hill)
Blalock From Atlanta, go N on Hwy 59 an turn on CR 3659, then turn on CR 3551, then turn on CR 3555, and finally turn on CR 3555A. This will dead end into private property where the cemetery is to the right of the house.

Blanton Family Hughes Springs - Tradition is that there was a Blanton Family Cemetery located on the old Robert Goodson place in the Goodson Community, between Linden on the west and Hughes Springs on the east, also running south, south of Sardis and north of Turkey Creek. Bockman Off Hwy 11 between Linden and Hughes Springs about 5 miles west of Hughes Springs. This is a lone grave located in a pasture (private land) and is not enclosed.

Boyd Family On private property. From Naples, take Hwy 77 and travel E for about 4 miles. Turn on CR 2596. When you see the Boyd Cemetery sign, go E a short distance to the cemetery.
Bradfield Chapel On the Morris/Cass County line. From US 259 in Daingerfield go east on Hwy 130 for 3.5 miles. Turn right on CR 4108. Cemetery sign viewable from hwy. Cemetery is .6 mile on the left.
Brantley Family No longer exists. In the Marietta area, Take Hwy 250 S from Marietta. In the vicinity of CR 2624 on private property.
Brewer Family Farm In Atlanta take Hwy 59, turn west on CR 3555 at Toby's Bar-B-Que to CR 3551. Turn left on CR 3551 for 1.7 miles. Cemetery about 150 yds off road on top of hill in the woods.
Brick Yard (Old) African American - Out of Hughes Springs on private property off CR 2984. Only a few rock markers are left. On the site of the old Reece Hughes Plantation which reportedly covered 25,000 acres. The cemetery began as a Slave Cemetery since Hughes had over 200 slaves, most of those were of the Royal family. The Royal descendants are currently working to get a Historical Marker for the cemetery
Bryans Mill See Pleasant Hill
Burleson Family Union Hill Community - Was located on the old Willie Patterson place near where the old house stood. However, there are no markers or other evidence to indicate the exact location. The Patterson place is in the Union Hill Community, 1 mile northwest of the Union Hill Cemetery on CR 1453. Submitted by Sharon Pierce
Cass From Atlanta, turn north on Holly St at City Limit sign. This street becomes CR 251. Go 10 miles from Main St in Atlanta to the cemetery. Cass community was originally known as Sheffield. The cemetery was founded in the 1890s, in NE corner of Cass & the NE corner of State of Texas
Caves Springs Just east of the intersection of CR 1671 & 1619.  Google Earth images show what might be a cemetery near there also, 32° 58' 3.48" N, 92° 23' 55.98" W
Cedar Grove From the intersection of Hwy. 77 & 8 in Douglassville, travel 3.6 miles west on Hwy. 77. Turn left onto CR 2343 and proceed .2 mile to Cedar Grove Methodist Church and Cemetery.
Center Grove Located across from the Center Grove Southern Baptist Church. From Linden go north on Hwy 8 about 4 miles, turn right on CR 1123, go about 1.5 miles and turn left onto CR 1122. This road dead ends at the Church and Cemetery.

Courtland community was in existence as early as 1845. Douglassville From Linden, take Hwy 8 to Douglassville.  Go through the 4 way stop and you will see the Baptist Church on the right & the Methodist Church on the left.  The cemetery is just past the churches on the right. 
Echols Family From Atlanta Hwy 59 West, take Douglassville Hwy 77 to CR 995. Turn left on 995 approximately 6 miles. Turn left off CR 995 on CR 1116 for .7 miles. At a sharp turn in the road it heads straight into an electric gate. The cemetery is southwest of the 1st electric gate over top of hill where two big oaks stand gate on the east side encloses these four graves. The property is the Big Sandy Ranch owned by the Harrison family. Please contact them before entering the property.
Echols/Snelgrove Go south on Hwy 59 from Linden to Co Rd 1753. Turn left and go to the end of the road
Edwards Farm Hughes Springs - After the Old Brick Yard Cemetery was closed in 1946, the Edwards Cemetery was started. It is located on the Edwards farm about .75 mile east of the Old Brick Yard Cemetery on the other side of the Old Avinger-Hughes Springs road. Submitted by Sharon Pierce
Ellington Family Right off Hwy 59 south onto Hwy 77, go about 8 miles. Cemetery is about 1/2 mile north of Hwy 77 in a bunch of trees behind a brick house. Property was once owned by J J Ellington. You do have to get permission to visit the cemetery

Favor/Faver From the intersection of Hwy 8 & 77 at Douglassville, travel west on Hwy 77 approximately 14.5 miles, turn left onto CR 2888, travel approximately 2.3 miles. There is a Favor Cemetery sign. The cemetery is about 300 yards off CR 2888, a field road leads to the cemetery.
Ferrell Located south of Kildare. Named for Dallas and Emma Ferrell
Finley/Swint Families Go west on Hwy 77 from Douglasville, about 5 miles, turn south on CR 2340 and go about 1 mile. The cemetery is located behind the Parker home on private property. Owner approval is required to go there.
First Love Baptist Church Outside of Hughes Springs. The Church bought one acre of land from the Edwards family to be used for a cemetery. This was only used for a very short time. There may be six or eight graves in this location.
Fite Family Located on CR 2984 southeast of Hughes Springs. There was an old brick quarry on the land of Abraham & Jane (Abernathy) Fite. Bricks from that quarry were hauled to Jefferson by oxen & used for the streets there. Abraham & Jane are buried in the old quarry plus babies of the Fite family. Some of their slaves plus some Indians were also reported to be buried there.

Fleming Family from the intersection of FM 250 & Hwy 77 to Marietta travel west for 2.1 miles, turn left into private driveway. Go .6 mil south on pasture lane, road follows ridge, cemetery is located on end of ridge, overlooking a narrow valley. This cemetery is on private property belonging to Richard Tuck, you must have permission to enter.

Located NE of Douglasville on County Road 2118 to "Poor Boy's Landing" on Wright Patman Lake (formerly Lake Texarkana). It is West of the Forest Hill Baptist Church on private property referred to as the Old Jim Stone's Place.
Forest Home #1  North of Queen City off Hwy 59, about 5 or 6 miles, then easton FM 3663 for about 3/4 mile. The cemetery is back in the dense pines & woods about 100 yds. No longer exists. Only had 3 burials, which were moved to Courtland Cemetery.

Frazier-Cole-Crawford Families From the intersection of Hwy 2791 & Hwy 96 in Atlanta, take Hwy 2791 almost 2 miles, turn right on CR 2116 and go about 1.3 miles. There is an opening there on the right side of the road with a large cedar tree. The cemetery is about 100 yds from there. On private property and there are no visible signs of a cemetery now. Squire Frazier owned a larged amount of land in that area at one time.

Fuller From the intersection of Hwy 250 & Hwy 77, go west on Hwy 77 about 4.5 miles to the Creekmore Cemetery Rd. Fuller cemetery is not far west of that road on Hwy 77 and back in the woods.
Galloway From Kildare, go east on Hwy 125 about 2/10 of mile, turn left on Hwy 248, go south about 1-1/2 miles. Cemetery is on left.
Gary/Fowler From Linden, Hwy 59 south to Hwy 155 & turn right. Go about 7 miles, turn left on CR 1631, then left on CR 1632 for about 2.3 miles. Turn left on CR 1626 then CR 1627 for 2 miles. (1 mile past Bear Creek Church and Cemetery off Hwy 155)

Griffis Family 9 miles southwest of Hughes Springs, just off FM 250 in a very wooded area. Need a guide to go into this cemetery as it is in a deep forest.
Gum Springs From Douglasville, go south on Hwy 8 about 3 miles. Cemetery is located on left on a hill....Church is on the right
Harris Chapel Take Hwy 161 south from Hughes Springs for 5 miles and the Harris Chapel United Methodist Church and cemetery are on the left. 
Hearn Follow CR 1587 off Hwy 49 just west of Avinger for 1.8 miles. Located on private property about a mile from the road. Cemetery NOT accessible without owner permission. Hearn Cemetery is named for Capt Tom Hearn, a Captain in the Civil war. He owned several hundred acres of land in the area. Cemetery is in three parts. One, Section A, was called Hearn-Abernathy Section and is surrounded by a manmade rock wall, some 3' high. Second, Section B, was predominately black. Third, Section C, was predominately white.
Hefner Family/Peacock Place From Hwy 77 turn on CR 2585 across from Exxon Service Station. Turn on CR 2590 then CR 2591. Located on private property in woods and a good walk on a cow trail. Cemetery is about 400' north from fence corner, At least 1 acre area for cemetery. This cemetery is known to be predominantly white. No markers in this cemetery. Several rock mounds that clearly
show as graves.

Henderson/Watson From the Linden intersection of Hwy 11 & Hwy 8, go west on Hwy 11 about 6-1/2 miles. Turn left on CR 1577 and go .9 mile. CR 1577 is a paved road. However, after a sharp deep curve, it turns into a dirt road which goes straight into the cemetery.
Henry Family It was located about 2 miles southeast of the town of Linden on a county road. It is no longer there as the rock markers are gone and the area has been worked as a tree farm.

Huffines South of Atlanta on Hwy 251, approximately 8 miles
Hughes Family located on W. First Street in Hughes Springs, Texas 0.7 miles east of the Hughes Springs Cemetery.
Isaiah Located 1.9 miles south of Dalton Baptist Church on CR 2729. Then 1/4 mile south of that point into woods owned by International Paper Company. Dalton Baptist Church is 3.5 miles west of Marietta on Highway 77. There are two cemeteries located on two adjacent knolls. The first is African-American with a marker for John Isaiah and about ten rock marked graves. The other cemetery is Moreland.

Kennedy Family From the main red light on Hwy 59N in Queen City, go 6.7 miles to CR 2327. Turn right for .4 miles, turn left on CR 3642 for .8 mile. You will see a locked gate with Hunting Club sign on gate. Youu can walk down the road going right in the woods. Cemetery is on right. This land was owned by the Kennedy family for many years; however it is presently owned by the heirs of J.W. Beaver.
Kildare In Atlanta, go S on Hwy 43 at the intersection of Hwy 77 & Hwy 43. Go about 6 miles to Bivins, turn rt on 1841 and left on Hwy 248, go 6 miles and turn left at the Cemetery sign.

Melton Family Located on private property south of Kildare, TX near Hwy 125 on the former farm of A. Z. Melton.
Mill Creek Located 8.5 miles N of Burkeville on US 87, then E on State Recreation Rd 255 for 4.5 miles.  Turn left on USFS Rd 196 for 2.9 miles, then left on Mill Creek Cemetery Rd for 1 mile.
Mobley, Moses grave grave on private property not accessible to the public.  Near the New Colony Church between Atlanta and Linden.
Mockingbird Hill From Linden, go Hwy 59 north then turn right on CR 1913 for .2 miles then left on CR 1915 for .2 miles. The cemetery is located on a peaceful hillside with about 38 white crosses. However, not all the burials are known.
Moore Family Located about 2-3 miles east of Huffines, on CR 4556. Cemetery is on land owned by International Paper.
Moreland Located 1.9 miles south of Dalton Baptist Church on CR 2729. Then 1/4 mile south of that point into woods owned by International Paper Company. Dalton Baptist Church is 3.5 miles west of Marietta on Highway 77. There are two cemeteries located on two adjacent knolls. Moreland Family Cemetery is predominately white cemetery and is on the 2nd knoll. There are three marked graves for this family and they are within an iron fence. The other cemetery is Isaiah Cemetery.

Mt. Moriah (Old) African American - Located on the Liberty Road (CR 1617) on the old Langston Bolton place, 1.3 miles from where it intersects with Hwy 49 in Avinger. The place is currently occupied by Willie Dowell. Cemetery is known to be predominately Black.

AKA Mt Zion Baptist Church
Located in the edge of Cass County in Pruett Community. From Intersection of U.S. Hwy 59 & St Hwy 49 in Jefferson, Texas, north for approximately 9 miles on Hwy 59 to FM 2683, then east for approximately 1.6 miles. Turn right on a dirt road. The Church & Cemetery are located at end of this dirt road, about 1/2 mile. The Cemetery began in the 1850s on land donated by Isaac Lemmon and Felix Lemmon.
Myers Go Hwy 59 north from Queen City for about 5 miles, then take FM 2327, driving a littleover 1 mile until you come to the RR tracks. At that point, you will have to go strictly on foot, walking down the RR tracks, up a hill, through a fence and then out in the woods.
New Colony Located about 3 miles east of Linden on Hwy 59, behind the New Colony Baptist Church.
New Hope North out of Marietta on FM 250.  Cross Hwy 77 to CR 2590 and turn right.  The road looks to go into a dirt road or drive way in to the cemetery
New Hope Located outside of Bloomburg - From Bloomburg go east on FM 3129 for 1 9/10 miles to CR 4919.  Turn left (north) and follow the road to the right for 6/10 mile.  The cemetery will be on the left by New Hope Baptist Church. (From US Hwy 59 in Atlanta, Tx go north on FM 249 for 7 6/10 miles to FM 3129.  Turn right (east) and go 8/10 mile to CR 4919.  Then go 6/10 mile to the cemetery.)
Niblett Family Go north on Hwy 161 from Hughes Springs. Go west on CR 2864 for about 1/2 mile. Cemetery is on the left.
Norwood Family Northwest of Atlanta where Courtland Rd intersects with CR 3437. On the left off the road is a baby's grave. The infant was the child of Cal Norwood and Flossie Campbell. The baby was buried in the corner of the garden.

Travel west out of Atlanta, TX on West Main Street. Take Texas Hwy 77W (right). The Farm Road 995 entrance will be on the left side of 77W. Drive about 10 miles and look for the O'Farrell Baptist Church. It is on the right side of 995. The cemetery is surrounded by a chain linked fence.

Pattillo Family Avinger, just a few yards south of Hwy 49, across the railroad tracks just east of the Avinger City Limit sign toward Jefferson. Lewis Pattillo was a wealthy plantation owner in this area. The original Hickory Hill community was located on Pattillo Plantation from 1848 to 1867.
Pearl Hill (Old)/Barnes In the New Colony area, off of CR 1124 in the woods. 4 marked graves.
Pine Bluff At the intersection of Highway 8 and 77 in Douglassville, travel west on Hwy 77 approximately 11 miles, turn left onto Hwy 250, travel approximately 7.3 miles, turn left onto CR 2626, travel approximately .3 mile. Cemetery is on the right side of the road.

Located in Atlanta, Tx. From the interesection of Hwy 59 & 77 goes straight across the rd. on FM. 249, at next light (Louise St.)(Co. Rd. 43) turn left. Go about .5 mi. and turn left on Cameron St. straight into cemetery.There are two sections to this cemetery. One section is predominately black and the other predominately white. To get to the predominately white section: from Main St. take Louise St. to Cameron St. turn west go two blocks.  The predominately black section is located north of the white section.
Pleasant Hill
AKA Bryans Mill
Located in the Bryans Mill Community at the forks of CR 2472 and CR 2471. From Douglassville travel west on Hwy 77 for 9 miles, turn right onto FM 994 for 3 miles to Bryans Mill. Take right on oil top road to cemetery on the right.
Pleasant Hill  African American - Take Hwy 11 through Linden to Hwy 8. Turn north on Hwy 8 for short distance. Turn left on CR 1399 for 2.9 miles. Cemetery is across the road from the Pleasant Hill Church.
Pleasant Hope Oldest known burial is in 1890, but is still in use today. It is located just 1/4 mile off of Hwy 251 between Huffines and McLeod, Tx on the right. There was a small sign denoting the church on the main road but no acknowledgment of the cemetery. New Hope Primitive Baptist Church sits just below the cemetery on the left side of the road. Church shut its doors as of July 2013 with a special foot washing ceremony, 18 people present. Church sign now gone.
Pleasant View at Bryan's Mill
Powell Family Approximately 2.7 miles west of intersection of Hwy 77 and Hwy 8 in Douglassville, Texas. Cemetery is on the north side of Hwy 77 and is between Carlow and Powell Creeks. Cemetery is on private property.
Powell/Jones Family From the intersection of Hwy 77 and Hwy 8 in Douglassville, travel west on Hwy 77 for 3.8 miles and turn right onto CR 2461. Follow CR 2461 for 2.4 miles and turn right onto CR 2462. Proceed on CR 2462 for .3 mile to first turn to right (which is also in a curve in the road). Road is a narrow, but well-kept lane and ends at the cemetery.
Prewitt Family Pruitt Lake Community - Family members of the Anselem PREWITT family were buried in a family cemetery on his property. The land that belonged to him at the time was located northwest of Pruitt Lake in the J. L. Chambers headright survey. Graves (believed to be children) marked with rocks but now lost.
Pruitt Lake CR 1581 - from Hwy 155 turn north on to CR 1579 for 1.4 miles then west on CR 1581, cemetery on right.
Queen City From Hwy 59 North, at the red light, take Loop 236 to Hwy 74, go East across railroad tracks through Queen City. Turn right on 6th Street, then go to Marietta Street or go to red light on Hwy 74 and turn right, the cemetery will be on the right, just pass the light.

Schulz Family South of Linden, just off of Hwy 59 on CR 1639. Private property, not accessible to the public. Only one burial. Schulz, Danny Ray born Feb 20, 1957 died Jan 13, 1990; s/o Barney Schulz & Lorene Dunn
Scott Family Hughes Springs - located on the old Dr. Scott place at the foot of Scott Mountain. This is somewhere between the Concord and Gravity Communities. This is private property and not accessible to the public. Legend is that some members of the Scott family were buried there, perhaps one or two Rendleman children, and perhaps others.
Seabright Family From Red Hill, which is about 8 miles north of Linden, go west on Hwy 995 to CR 1238...about 2 miles. Graves are on a hill top, on private property. Nothing remains of the cemetery, cemetery is lost. Old Timers in the area believe it was a transient family named Seabright who lost members of family & buried them on their way to somewhere else.
Sevron/Cevron Family North of Atlanta on FM 2328 at the Bentley Farm. Cemetery is completely lost. Property owner states no sign of cemetery for over 30 yrs

African American -    St. John's Baptist Church and Cemetery are located off Hwy. 8 about 3 miles north of Douglassville. The community is referred to as Panhandle.    
St. Paul Go south from Atlanta on Hwy 43 about 17 miles. Turn left at the cemetery sign, CR 4342 & CR 4344 intersection. The church is located at the east end of the cemetery.

AKA Henderson - This cemetery is on private property 3.9 miles South of Douglassville, on Highway 8. Turn right on CR 2341 and travel .3 miles. Turn right at first right turn. Cemetery is approximately .1 from turn onto this road on the left. Saint William Catholic Church was built in January 1912 and dedicated on May 21, 1912, by Bishop Lynch of Dallas. The adjacent cemetery was begun in 1915 with the death of "Little Mary" Henderson. The church which no longer stands was established by the Lambert and Henderson families.This cemetery is known to be predominately white.

Union Chapel  From Douglassville, go West on Hwy 77 toward Naples.  Turn north, right, onto FM 2466.  Go about 2 miles and you will see the old Union Chapel School building on the right and the Union Chapel United Methodist Church and Cemetery on the left.  There is a small intersection at the Church and FM 2466 continues straight past the church.

Union Hill (Old) From Hwy 11 about 7 miles west of Linden and 8 miles east of Hughes Springs, turn north on CR 1463 for 2.8 miles to CR 1462. Turn west on CR 1462 for .2 mile, turn north on CR 1461 for .4 mile, turn west through a pasture and into woods for about a mile. This cemetery is on private property of Patterson family and the gate is locked Key can be requested from the Patterson’s, who live near the Union Hill Church and Cemetery.
Walker Family Located about 3.5 miles northeast of Hughes Springs and just east of Norwood Hill, close to CR 2994. Cemetery is now lost.
Walton East of McLeod on Hwy 125 to Walton. Turn right on CR 4454, then left on CR 4453. Cemetery is on the right.
Ware From Queen City, take Hwy 59 north for 8.5 miles to Domino at the red light. Turn right on CR 3129, cross RR track, at top of hill turn right on CR 3673, go short distance, turn right into cemetery. This cemetery was established on land purchased in 1974 from the Ware homestead after the last available plot in the Albert Richie Cemetery was sold.

Barfield Morris County near the Cass County line.  About two miles west of Hughes Springs going toward Daingerfield, in a pasture.  There is a lone grave in a fenced lot, with rocks possibly indicating one more grave. Headstone reads John N. Barfield, Company A, 54 Georgia Inf. C.S.A.
County Line Morris County near the Cass County line. Take hwy 161 north from Hughes Springs to Hwy 130. Turn west on 130 for 1.8 miles. Turn north on Morris CR 4119 for 1.1 miles, cemetery on left.
Griffis Family Morris County - 9 Miles SW of Hughes Springs off FR 250 - NW of Harris Chapel Church. CR 2307 to dirt road into the woods. The natives around Hughes Springs, Texas say there was once a farm house here. There are 15 unmarked graves and 5 marked ones. The cemetery predominately has graves of the family and slaves of John M. Griffis of Alabama. Some graves are outside of the fence. All the slave graves are unmarked.
