CAMP COUNTY - MAPLE SPRINGS CEMETERY


Services for Marion Victor "Vic" Whitaker, U.S. Marine Corps, gunnery sergeant, retired, 69, of Gilmer, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2008, at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Calhoun officiating. Interment will be in Maple Springs Cemetery of Camp County. Arrangements are by Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home of Gilmer. Mr. Whitaker died June 26, 2008, in Tyler.

Born February 26, 1939, in Tucumcari, N.M., he proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. 

Survivors include his wife, Onita Whitaker; daughters, Janet Hulen, Dana Fulce, Heather Whitaker and Patricia D. Chance; father, Murrell Whitaker; brothers, Sonny Whitaker and Bill Whitaker; and sister, Alice Dickinson.
