CAMP COUNTY - MAPLE SPRINGS CEMETERY David Earl Weaver, 49, was born on September 23, 1960 and passed away on June 1, 2010. David was born in Longview, Texas to parents Annie Mae Irby Glanden and David Harold Weaver. "Dahveed" was full of life, vitality, and charm. Living in Austin for most of his life, Dahveed was a music aficionado who captured the spirit of his environment. His life mirrored his favorite quote from the Wizard of Oz, "It's not how much you love, but how much you are loved by others." David Weaver attended Longview High School. He received his Associates of Arts from Kilgore College and later his Bachelor of Arts in political science from Baylor University. David Weaver obtained his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Baylor Law School. David served as General Counsel for the Texas State Securities Board for the past 20 years. He served a term as President of the Texas General Counsel Forum. David Weaver was a contributing member and committee member of the North American Securities Administrators Association. He served as a board member on the Veterans Commission where he organized an effort to provide financial assistance to Texas Veterans. David was also a board member of the Downtown Austin Neighborhood Association. David Earl is survived by his partner of seven years, Bonsack Phrasavath; cat, Paris Hilton; dog, Wookie; sister, Bobbye Sonnier and husband, Jo-El, of Lake Charles, LA; sister, Dr. Shirley Barker Strange-Allen of Ashland, VA; brother, Roy Barker and wife, Donese of Linden; brother, James Barker Jr. and wife, LeeAnn, of Wake Village; brother, Johnnie Steed and wife, Nicki, of Longview; brother, Gerald Steed of Longview; cousin, Ginger Morgan and husband, Jack of Arlington; 12 nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 4, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., St. Mary's Cathedral in Austin. Graveside services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
