CAMP COUNTY - CROSSROADS CEMETERY Wanda Jean Warrick, age 58, of Pittsburg, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016. in Dallas. Wanda was born December 22, 1957 in Pittsburg to William and Joyce Jenkins Kimbell. On May 4, 1979, in Pittsburg she married Larry Warrick. Over the next 37 years they would laugh, love and raise two children: Johnathan and Ben. Wanda loved to help others, it was this love that drove her to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She worked at both East Texas Medical Center - Pittsburg and Titus Regional Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant. She also worked at Moore's Nursing Home. In addition to her nursing, Wanda also served as a firefighter with the Pittsburg Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years. She was the department's first female firefighter and had the honor of obtaining the rank of Lieutenant, and later Captain. Mrs. Warrick loved the outdoors, and especially enjoyed golfing and fishing. She loved to travel and took special pleasure in her trips to Alaska with Larry to go salmon fishing. Most importantly though, she was devoted to her family. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly, and never missed a little league game. Wanda had a strong relationship with the Lord, a quality she passed to the rest of her family. She was a regular member of the Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her devoted husband of over 37 years, Larry Warrick; her two sons: Johnathan Warrick and spouse Chase Warrick of Pittsburg; and Ben Warrick and wife Amanda, also of Pittsburg; along with three grandchildren: Dakota Warrick and fiancee Taylor Poe, Dalton Warrick and Morgan Warrick. Also left to cherish her memory are a sister: Brenda Putnam; a niece Jackie Gamble; and nieces and nephews Rhett, Tara, Carrie Beth, Brian and Scott; along with a host of dear friends. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents: William and Joyce Kimbell. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, May 19 at Crossroads Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 20 at Crossroads Baptist Church, with Bro. Greg Miller officiating and assisted by Bro. Don Sides. Burial will follow at Crossroads Cemetery.
