BOLTON CEMETERY - CAMP COUNTY Tuesday, October 11, 2011 11:50 AM CDT Mount Pleasant Daily Tribune PITTSBURG – Lawrence Eugene Ray, 91, died Saturday, October 8, 2011 in Longview. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2011 at Mt. Lebanon C.M.E. Church in Pittsburg with Rev. Reginald W. Bowser officiating. Interment will follow in Bolton Cemetery under the direction of the Johnson Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Anthony Ray, Gaylon Bowser, Gene Ray, Cary Ray, Chris Ray, Terrence Ray, Authur Ray, Gereald Ray, Ryan Brown, Chase Bowser, R.J. Bowser, Christian Bowser, Anubis Pharroah, and Stephen McNealy. Honorary Pallbearers are the Stewards of the Mt. Lebanon C.M.E Church. Mr. Ray was born May 31, 1920 in Gilmer to Arthur Ray and Bessie Ray. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon C.M.E Church. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Ray of Pittsburg; six daughters, Kathryn Robinson of El Paso, Cheryl McNealy, Darlene Thomas, Carolyn Brown, Joyce Faye Ray, Wanda Hill; and three sons, Lawrence Ray, Jr., Larry Ray, and Fred Ray, all of Pittsburg; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl Ray of Winnsboro; three sisters, Alma Faye Simon, Ethel McGill, and Mable White all of Fort Worth; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ira Jewell Bowser; a brother, George Ray; and his parents.
