EBENEZER CEMETERY - CAMP COUNTY Birth: Dec. 14, 1945 Death: Feb. 27, 2012 George William Moody went home on Monday, February 27, 2012. At the time of his passing, George was surrounded by friends and family who loved him including his two daughters, sister and grandsons. George was born December 14, 1945 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Grafton William Moody and Nadine Tinney Moody. George moved to Texas as an infant. For over 40 years, George worked in the East Texas area in the banking business. George was currently the President of White Oak State Bank in White Oak, Texas. George was also President of Bloomberg State Bank in Bloomberg, Texas. George has also owned The Butcher Shop in Longview, Texas for 28 years. George is survived by his two daughters and sons in law, Tina Moody and Tim Bryan of Longview, Texas, Gina Moody and Adam Burton of Ore City, Texas, a sister, Linda Moody Lewis of Ore City, Texas, two grandsons, William Garrett Burton and Jacob Cole Burton of Ore City, Texas and two nephews, Gregory Keith Lewis and William Bradley Lewis of Ore City, Texas. While his numerous business successes were due to his dedicated hard work, it was secondary when it came to his family, especially his two grandsons. All other appointments were canceled when it came to his more important occupation of being a "Paw Paw." George was preceded in death by his parents. Supporting local charitable organizations was a desire of George. Many times, his generous contributions were never known. Special thanks and recognition from the family go to George's dedicated caregivers on staff at Baylor Hospital, Dallas and Good Shepherd Medical Center, Longview. Furthermore the family recognizes that George's daughters and sister never left his side during his illness. Arrangements have been made through Rader Funeral Home of Longview, Texas. Visitation will be held at Rader Chapel, 1617 Judson Road, Longview, Texas from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 1, 2012. At his request graveside only services will be held at Ebenezer Cemetery on FM Road 557, in Pittsburg, Texas on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
