EBENEZER CEMETERY - CAMP COUNTY Birth: Oct. 14, 1934 Death: Feb. 16, 2006 MOUNT PLEASANT - Services for Paul Messer, 72, Mount Pleasant, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Erman Smith Funeral Home chapel, Pittsburg, with the Rev. Steve Mathis officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Camp County. Mr. Messer died Feb. 16, 2007, in a Tyler hospital. He was born Oct. 14, 1934, in Kentucky to the late Otto and Debbie Jane Bailey Messer. He was a concrete contractor, and a member of the Bricklayers Union. He was preceded in death by son, Jerry Paul Messer. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Sweet, Mount Pleasant; son, Gary Messer, Mount Pleasant; stepsons, Martin Sweet, Mount Pleasant, Daniel Sweet, Grapevine, Harry Sweet, West Covina, Calif., and Randy Sweet, Pittsburg; daughter, Livia Duncan, Pittsburg; brother, Jake Messer, Tennessee; sisters, Margaret Burk, Fort Meyers, Fla., and Ruth Panzuto, Florence, S.C.; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Daniel Duncan, Christopher Sweet, Martin Sweet, Randy Sweet, Kent Ford and Thomas Butcher. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
