PITTS CEMETERY - CAMP COUNTY Mr. E. H. Hopson, for many years one of Pittsburg's prominent citizens, died Sunday in the Old Soldier's Home at New Orleans and his body was brought to Pittsburg Tuesday and interred in Pitts Cemetery, Rev. C. B. Cross and Rev. R.A. Morris conducting the services. Mr Hopson is survived by four children, Elton Hopson of St. Louis, Buck Hopson of Memphis, Ford Hopson of Kansas City, and Mrs. Frank Prestwood of Tyler. He underwent an operation a few days before his death. His wife passed away about five years ago. For a long time, Mr. Hopson was engaged in the dry goods business under the firm name of Hopson and Abernathy. After a fire which destroyed their store, the firm dissolved and Mr Hopson engaged in the dry goods business under his own name. During his many years in Pittsburg, he was active in all questions involving the civic and commercial interests of the community. After his retirement from business, he filled the office of County Tax Assessor for several terms. He was a man of kind and generous impulse and had many friends in Pittsburg and throughout Camp and adjoining counties. The Pittsburg Gazette Friday, February 29, 1924
