NEW MINE CEMETERY - CAMP COUNTY Services for Hubert B. Carpenter, 91, Pittsburg, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Pittsburg, with Bro. Tim Parker officiating. Burial will be in New Mine Cemetery, Pittsburg. Mr. Carpenter died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at his home. He was born May 22, 1922, in Pittsburg. He served in the Air Force, was a retired mail carrier with the United States Postal Service and was a member of New Mine Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by parents, Clint and Roma Etta Langdon Carpenter. Survivors include wife, Patsy Ruth Carpenter, Pittsburg; son, Timothy Ray Carpenter and wife Shree, Gilmer; daughters Sharal Madding and husband Vardell, Longview, Brenda Bynum and husband Tony, Mount Pleasant; stepson, Russ Cooper and wife Nancy, Tyler; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Larry Bailey, Gary Dobbs, James McElhaney, Omega McCellon, Vardell Madding, William Mitcham, Aaron Pearson and James Smith.
