CAMP COUNTY - CROSSROADS CEMETERY Randall "Randy" Joseph Burke, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016, in Pittsburg at the age of 60. Randy was born February 12, 1956 in Toledo, Ohio to Floyce and Beulah Burke. On June 19, 1976 he wed Cheryl Toney in Temperance, Michigan. Over the next 39 years they would laugh, love, and raise two children: Jonathan and Sarah. Over the years the family would cover a great expanse of the US as Randy pastored churches across the country. Throughout his lengthy tenure as a Reverend of the Christian Church he was fortunate to share the Gospel in many towns including: East Chesterfield/Winameg Parish in Delta, Ohio, Lincolnton, North Carolina, Hennessey, Oklahoma, Houston, Texas, and finally, Mt. Pleasant, Texas. In 1987 Reverend Burke obtained his Masters of Divinity from the Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University. In 2011 the family moved to the Pittsburg area. In addition to his ministries, Randy was also involved in the communities he served in a number of other ways. He was a 32nd Degree Master Mason of the Coronado Lodge #56 in Hennessey, Oklahoma and also a member of the Grand Lodge of Oklahoma. Randy was a people person and loved to visit and make new friends. He enjoyed scooting around Walmart while grocery shopping and catching up on news and events with his friends and fellow patrons. Most importantly, Randy loved his family. He cherished the time he was able to spend with them, especially the ritual Sunday lunch, which he always looked forward to. He is survived by his loveing wife of 39 years, Cheryl Burke; a son: Jonathan Burke and wife Kandace, of Pittsburg; a daughter: Sarah Beckham and husband Jason, also of Pittsburg; as well as 6 grandchildren: Collin, Trevor, Emiley, Chunky aka Lainne, Dustinn, and Brian; a brother-in-law: Chet Wilson; and his nephew: Tim Wilson and wife Darla. Randy was preceded in death by his parents: Floyce and Beulah Burke, and a sister: Phyllis Wilson. Visitation will be held Friday, April 22 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 23 at Crossroads Baptist Church in Pittsburg with Reverend Jim Rawlins officiating. Burial will follow at Crossroads Cemetery.
