CAMP COUNTY - CROSSROADS CEMETERY ARLINGTON – Barbara (Jeanie) Shelton Allen, 75, formerly of Pine, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011 in Arlington. Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Crossroads Cemetery in Camp County. Pallbearers are Chris Allen, Jason Levesque, Michael Allen, Evan Gill, Matthew Allen, and William Allen. Mrs. Allen was born May 8, 1936 in Pine. Her younger years were spent living in Pine and Chandler, Arizona. She married a military man and spent the next 20 plus years building their family and traveling where the government needed them. Her later years were spent in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. She spent many years working for the government and later working in the education field. She was a member of the Eastern Star and a life-long member of Pine Baptist Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Cindy Allen of Arlington; two daughters and a son-in-law, Teresa Carole Wood; Nancy and Ted Gill all of Arlington; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Alva Mae Goltz of Medford, Oregon; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of over 50 years, Vernon Lee Allen; three brothers, Carroll Clay Shelton; Raymond Olvis Shelton; and Johnnie Floyd Shelton; two sisters, Dorothy Bell Braudaway and Eva Lou Kirkpatrick; and one grandson, Bradley Alexander Levesque.
