Raneta Darlene Best Scott
Raneta Darlene Best Scott, 65, of Port Lavaca, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003.
She was born Dec. 2, 1937 in Houston, the daughter of the late W. W. Best and Geneva Robinett Best.
She was a secretary for Calhoun County Independent School District and a member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald B. Best.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Scott of Port Lavaca; a daughter, Sheryl Lynn Scott Dettling of College Station; a son, Dwayne Frank Scott of Ganado; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003 at the Port Lavaca Church of Christ with Shan Jackson officiating.Burial followed at Green Lawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Henry Wotipka, Robert Sanders, Jimmie Randle, Briggs Wilborn, Walter Rosenbrock, Calvin Anderle, Tillman Shafer, Justo Chavana, Ken Woodall and Pete Terrell.
Memorials may be made to the Port Lavaca Church of Christ, 808 S. Hwy. 35, Port Lavaca, Texas 77979.
