Hall ~ ca 1860

John Hall and his family settled in the area around 1860 and settlers began arriving shortly after the Civil War. Two acres of land were set aside by J. R. Bishop on the John Hall Survey for a school and cemetery. The community is located in eastern Caldwell County off FM 1322, traveling County Roads 139 to 141 (cemetery location) and 142. The community has close ties to the Watts community because of marriages and kinships developed over the many years. In 1960 a large tabernacle was built beside the cemetery and the Hall Cemetery Association has regular meetings there each year.
