on board in 2014.  Suzanne was born and raised in SA so she knows the
county inside and out. She has a tremendous amount of information of
records that she has access to that she is trying to get online with
Connie's help. Suzanne, like many of us, goes beyond the call of duty for
her researchers. A simple inquiry about a lost cemetery from a researcher
led Suzanne to a deed search and a happy ending for the researcher."

Newspaper articles include a story about Raymond Hamilton (of Bonnie and Clyde fame) being captured in the county.]


    The County of the Year Honorable Mention counties are

    Bosque - Bettie Woods, CC (not a monthly winner in 2005)
    Very useful site that is easy to navigate. The section on Early News Items gives a look back into time for the county. The Old Letters are interesting and the College Song is a great addition.

    Henderson - Bunny Freeman, CC (not a monthly winner in 2005)
    Simple, uncluttered site - easy to use with lots of information. The sections for Black History and the Old Letters are very informative and the Military Page is quite impressive..

    The Honorable mention counties for this month are: Cass, Crosby, Frio, Howard, McCulloch, Nolan and Rusk. Hats off to the CC's of these counties! They are all excellent sites and are great examples of what the TXGenWeb has to offer researchers.

    County of the Year Honorable Mention Award.  Easy to use website that has lots of information. A unique feature of this site is the Tips for Spanish Genealogy. There are lots of photos on the Old Photos page that are very interesting.

     Honorable Mention counties: (in alphabetical order), Angelina, Coke, Culberson, Garza, Gray, Nacogdoches, Tarrant, and Webb.

    County of the Year Honorable Mention Award.  Well-designed site with alphabetized directory makes it easy to find whatever you are looking for. The site has scans of the registered Brands and Marks in the county and the Election Results for 1861. Even the animals are represented with a section called In The Wild.
     [Award Comments:  Wes has been the CC for Johnson County for a couple of years and the website has recently been given a new look that presents the available information in an easy to use format. There is a wealth of information on the website that attests to the amount of time that is required to maintain a TXGenWeb county.] 

    The Honorable Mention Counties are: Bowie, Burnet, Dallam, El Paso, Panola, Refugio, Rockwall, Shackelford, and Yoakum. Congratulations to the Honorable Mention counties and their CC's. These counties can be proud that they represent the best in the TXGenWeb.
    [Award Comments:  Elaine and Sharon work hard on all their counties and Harrison County is another example of their dedication to free genealogy.] 

    The Honorable Mention counties for this month are: Burnet, Orange, Red River, Refugio, and Rockwall. These counties represent the cream of the crop in the TXGenWeb and their CC's deserve to be acknowleged.
    [Award Comments:  The Bastrop County website has a lot of information arranged in a user-friendly format that is combined with a very fresh look that gives it great eye-appeal. Tammy has worked hard to make the site one of the best in the TXGenWeb.]

    The Honorable Mention counties for this month are: Brazoria, Burnet, Karnes, McMullen, Reeves, and Wilbarger. As usual, the Honorable Mention counties are all great sites themselves and the CC's have every right to be proud of the Honorable Mention status.

    [Award Comments:  The CC's of the Panola County website have made great strides in adding information to the site and always keep the site up to date. There is a lot of usable information on the website and it is very easy on the eyes.] 

    The Honorable Mention counties for July are: Angelina, Bowie, El Paso, Jackson, Live Oak, and Orange; and as always, these are great websites as well.
    [Award Comments: This is the 3rd COM award for Navarro County, so the Hall of Fame Award is also awarded to the site. The CC's have done a great job in keeping the site updated and in presenting the information in a user-friendly format.]  

    The Honorable Mention counties for June are: Bandera, Frio, Gray, Lavaca, McLennan, Mitchell, and San Jacinto. Kudos to the CC's of these counties as they also represent the best of the TXGenWeb.
     [Award Comments:  Marion County and the Honorable mention counties are representative of the amount of hard work and dedication that is put forth in the TXGenWeb each and every month. The TXGenWeb just keeps getting better!]

    The Honorable Mention counties are: Colorado, Donley, El Paso, Hunt, McMullen, Rains, and San Jacinto. Congratulations to the CC's of these counties as well.
     [Award Comments: This is the third time Gregg County has been selected as the COM, so it now joins the ranks of the Hall of Fame and will display that award on its website. Sharon and Elaine have worked hard to keep the Gregg County site updated and very user friendly.] 

    The Honorable Mention counties for April are: Jeff Davis, Lavacca, Milam, Refugio, and Wise. These counties are all capable of COM status and deserve to be acknowledged.
     [Award Comments:  Susan has worked diligently to make Grayson County informative and up-to-date. She is always adding to or "sprucing up" the website. Grayson County has now won the COM 3 times and may display the Hall of Fame Award as well.] 

    The Honorable Mention Counties for February are: Frio, Kerr, Lavaca, Madison, Milam and Walker counties.
