  • PIERPOINT, Joseph. Private, 8th Infantry, Company F, 2 March 1852.
  • COURTNEY, Patrick. Private, 8th Infantry, Company D, 15 March 1852.
  • LILLIOROP, Thomas. Private, 8th Infantry, Company H, 15 March 1852.
  • KENNEDY, James. Private, 8th Infantry, Company E, 19 June 1852.
  • PAYE, Thomas. Private, 8th Infantry, Company E, 19 June 1852 - chronic dysentery.
  • BAKER, ____. Private, 2nd Dragoons, Company I, 25 March 1853 - killed by Indians on the Clear Fork of the Brazos.
  • SULLIVAN, Patrick. Private, 5th Infantry, Company K, 1 April 1853 - killed on Post by accidental discharge of pistol.

The monument above was placed on the Ft. Croghan grounds on June 12, 1999, the 150th anniversary of the fort, in a ceremony to commemorate 8 soldiers who died at the Fort.
