Webster (Webbie) J. Dunaway was born June 17, 1899 and was raised in the Fairland Community in Burnet County. His parents, Thomas Jefferson and Cynthia Ann Dunaway, moved to Burnet County between 1881 and 1884 from Polk Co, TX, but were originally from Pike Co, MS. Uncle Webbie was married to Alma Clark, but they divorced. They didn't have any children. I believe he ran the pool hall in Marble Falls. For as long as I can remember Uncle Webbie lived with his sister, Mabel (actually Maybell) and Clyde Holland. Uncle Webbie lived most of his life in Burnet County. He did move with his brother John to Atascosa County in 1924, but he only stayed in Atascosa County for a short time. He died June 12, 1985.

Webbie Dunaway, 85, of Marble Falls died Wednesday, June 12 [1985].

Dunaway was born on June 17, 1899 in Fairland, the son of Thomas Jefferson Dunaway and Cynthia Ann Dunaway.

Dunaway served in the U. S. Army. He was a retired farmer and rancher.

Funeral services for Dunaway were held Saturday, June 15 at 2 pm at the Clements-Wilcox Chapel in Marble Falls with Rev. Max Copeland officiating. Interment followed at Fairland Cemetery under direction of Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home.

Survivors include Dunaway's two sisters-in-law, Bertha Dunaway of Burnet and Annie Mae Dunaway of Odessa; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Dunaway was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.

Pallbearers were B. M. Gibson, Leroy Bowles Jr, Bill Gibson, Vernon Farmer, Gary Holland, and Tom Whitley.
