Lubbock - Neal Norwood Hanslik, 56, of Lubbock, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002.
He was born March 26, 1946, in Baton Rouge, La., to Adolph Hanslik and Juanita Copland McClure of Lubbock. Hw as a graduate of Schreiner Institute in Kerrville and served in the Navy. He had attended Texas Tech and was a technical director of the Neighbor Playhouse School of Theater. He served as an assistant produce and performer on many Broadway shows and had appeared on many soap operas. He produced and directed for Cargil Productions and directed the Ronald McDonald House Follies. He served on the board of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and was an interior designer for the Dallas Parade of Homes and was interior and exterior designer decorator for Highland Hills ' annual Christmas celebration. He served as President of the boards of Ballet Lubbock, Lubbock Arts Alliance, Lubbock Community Theater and had served on and was co-found of Lubbock Regional Arts Center. He was president and founder of the Liano Estacado Institute for the Performing Arts.
Survivors: parents; and sister, Elizabeth Motalvo of San Antonio.
Services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Lubbock, the Rev. Melvin K. Gray officiating.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Hallettsville, the Rev. John Peters officiating. Kubena Funeral Home, Hallettsville, 361-798-3271.
