What is This?
TriniGenWeb is a Country Web Site in the CaribbeanGenWeb Region of the WorldGenWeb Project. This collection of sites is run by volunteers. TriniGenweb's purpose is to provide a resource for sharing information related to Trinidad and Tobago genealogical research. The key to this effort being successful is your participation.

New Visitors
If you are new to this site, we ask that you first visit our FAQ page, followed by the History, Comings & Goings, and Research pages. You will find alot of background information in those areas that may answer many of your initial questions. Your next step should be to review the Message Boards for information that may pertain to you. Search options are available, or you can simply read the postings. Once you have determined that the information you need has not yet been discussed, please post a query. We advise that you choose the option that will notify you when a response has been made to your post.

Navigation
Getting around the site is easy. The top and bottom of every page has links to the main sections of the site. Clicking on the TriniGenWeb logo on the top of the page will take you directly back to the Home Page. Many pages have a navigation bar on the left side of the page to point you to related links, and help you get around inside of a section.

Genealogy Resources
Research - is a section detailing resources that are available to the genealogist.

Archives - contains transcriptions of original records performed by other researchers and submitted to CaribbeanGenWeb.

Message Boards - Rootsweb has provided message boards to post your queries and information about your ancestors for others to use.

Surnames - Here you can find links to surname resources on the Web, as well as a list of personal genealogy sites related to Trinidad families.

Country Information
History - Learn about the development of the islands, including it's social, economic, and military history.

Comings and Goings - Like other countries in the Americas, the history of Trinidad & Tobago is tied up with waves of migration, both into and out of the islands. Check out these pages to see when, why, and how your ancestors came and went.

How to Contribute
Contributions are not only welcome, but encouraged, needed, and sincerely appreciated. Any historical information that you may have that contains a list of names may be valuable to someone, or maybe you know where to find a resource in your area.
