There is a Johan Kristoffel CUITS second party – sailing 23 May 1709 from Holland to England. – Palatine Emigration. This seems to be Johan Christoph KURTZ wife and two children shown owing the British Government for subsistence given at "either the New York or Hudson River landings" – (Palatine Emigration). But, There is a John KURTZ with wife and two children shown as returning to Holland in 1709. The author suggests that many of those returning eventually found their own way to America other than in the main group – which might show why our John CUNITZ ended up in North Carolina, rather than New York or Pennsylvania. "Christopher" is a family name for our line.

**This was given to me by a descendant of the Crook family; however, I am sure that it is incorrect. I have not researched St. Francis County, AR except for the Koonces there. I will go back and recheck the census records for these girls of Jarman & Mary M. (Crook) Koonce. Says John KOONCE Miss Alice Koonce married George P. Taylor, son of John and Mary (Cockrell) Taylor, in February 1873 George was born in Cooper County Missouri October 13 1850. He moved to St. Francis County, Arkansas in 1870, where he engaged in farming. They had six children

This would make a fine John Sr. and John Jr. but it seems unlikely that the Sr. listed is actually the household held by the widow as the ages are wrong. Also, the use of Sr. and Jr. in the colonial times really meant eldest and younger, which could apply to cousins.
4……. John KOONCE – son of Generation 3 George KOONCE Jr. (200)
George KOONCE is living in 1800 and is listed in the census. One of the above three John KOONCE is probably this man’s son, John KOONCE. There is not enough information to determine which one. However, the other three sons (George KOONCE, Phillip KOONCE and Lemuel KOONCE) are missing, so this assumption may be incorrect. There may be other unknown John KOONCE, although it is a family tradition if the name is spelled KOONCE, they are relatives.

#411 - BRITTON ODOM (who later appears in Wilson Co) He was son of Wiley Odom/Sarah Kinchen - Wiley d. 1818, his widow appears to be the Sarah in Smith County 1820 cen. 2 males under 10; 1 male 26-45; 1 female under 10, 1 female 16-26

James ODOM Jr.’s will dated 1843 names all of children listed in family group sheet and based on 1820 census records for Wilson Co., these appear to be the only children. Only other ODOM shown in early Wilson Co. census is Brittain ODOM who is not in Wilson Co. on 1830 census. Marriage records of Wilson Co. show that Britton ODOM m. Ridley BLURTON 12 Sept 1814, bondsman Jubel BOBBET. It would appear that Britton ODEN came to TN about the same time as James & Mary (CRISP) ODOM. Other early marriage records for Wilson Co: Moses ODOM to Lucy LAWRENCE 4 Aug 1825; Thomas ODOM to Elizabeth ALLEN 1831; William C. ODOM to Francis COOPER 1832.
