This is a picture of Pope's Chapel School in 1905 as offered by Mrs. Hester Dabbs for publication. The teachers pictured are Ida Bell, standing left, and Sam Bell. Front row, seated left to right are Tandy Treadwell, Sammy Dabbs, Vassar Lynch, Bill Fraley, Charlie Pope, Izora Treadwell, Tom Fraley, Alice Whitehead, Sallie Whitehead, Hester Warren, Walter Dabbs, and Edna Dabbs. Second row, left to right, next to teacher, Johnny Hickerson, Myrtle Sharp, Ada Whitehead, Elsie Warren, Mary Treadwell, Pearl Lynch, Duffie Hickerson and Sallie Fraley. Back row, left to right, Emma Hickerson, Ida Hickerson, Biffle Dabbs, Ethel Dabbs, Martha Treadwell, Brennie Lynch, Bertha Hickerson, Laura Fraley, Bentley Pope, Mutt Whitehead, Tom Whitehead and the teacher. According to our count there is one not identified in the top row, since there are nine girls and names given for only eight.
