Photos above are of James Henry Bate. James was the son of
Colonel Humphrey Bate and first wife, Elizabeth Pollock (Brimage). He was born 25 Nov 1804 and died 14 Apr 1842.He took as his wife Amanda Patience Weatherred, the daughter of
William and Patience (Dowell) Weatherred whom he married 12 Dec 1835. She was born 19 Nov 1806 and died 14 Apr 1870. Above left shows Amanda in her youth, the one on the right shows Amanda in later years.
