Work Crew South Tunnel 1895

Handwritten across the bottom of the photo is: Work Crew South Tunnel 1895. On the back handwritten it says May 1895. The man in the white jacket at the front of the engine is my great grandfather John Albert Taylor. He apparently took over as Tunnel Watchman from his father George Overton Taylor. George Overton Taylor was the first watchman for the tunnels at South Tunnel. I'd like to see if anyone knows any of the other men in the photo. I'm hoping that some of them maybe family. Also any information on the engine would also be appreciated. The only markings are the numbers 143. There are no markings from a railroad company at all. Any help with this picture will be greatly appreciate.
