Note from Abstracter: The index provided will be published at a later date--as soon as Volume I has been completed.

Notes from the Author: Compiled from later and additional information and containing an index for this and for Sumner County, Tennessee in the Civil War. The index of places, persons etc. leaves out tiresome repetitions that are mentioned hundreds of times and merely locates them as being between certain pages, such as major battles, prisons, etc.

The arranging of this index has been a monumental task and we hope that it will be appreciated.
