Know all men by these presents that we J. T. Bruce, J. W. Bruce, J. A. Bruce, J. H. Bruce, W. B. Bruce and Florence Hughes, heirs of J. A. Bruce deceased , also Adeline Bruce, J. R. Perry and Mary Bruce heirs of Harriet Bruce also J. M. Bruce, A. F. Bruce, Tilda Bruce and M. C. Lassiter in consideration of having received our portion and allotment of land of J. W. Bruce, deceased, do hereby devise release and forever quit claim unto Peter Lewis and wife M. J. Lewis, their heirs forever all our title interest and estate, legal and equitable, in the following premises to wit: A certain tract or parcel of land the same being the allotment to Peter Lewis and wife of J. W. Bruces land situated and lying in the State of Tennessee, Sumner Co., in Civil District No. 6 on the head waters of Manskers creek and bounded as follows: Beginning in center of road and branch. Thence with road N. 40 W 10 poles to a point in center of road. thence with road N 59 W 12 poles to a point in center of road and branch. Thence N 28 W 9 poles and 8 links to a point in center of road thence N 65 E 82 poles to a stake two poles south of a hickory corner. Thence S 3.9 W 80 poles to the beginning. Containing by estimation 9-1/2 acres.
In testimony whereof we have this 21st day of May 1896 subscribed our names and seal. This 16 day of May 1903.

State of Tennessee } Personally appeared before me D. A. Montgomery a Sumner County } Notary Public in and for said State and County, the within named A. F. Bruce, J. M. Bruce & wife M. V. Bruce the bargainors with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that they executed the within deed instrument for the purposes therein contained. And M. V. Bruce, wife of the said J. M. Bruce having personally appeared before me privately and apart from her husband the said M. V. Bruce acknowledged the execution of said deed to have (sic) done by her freely, voluntarily and understandingly without compulsion or constraint from her said husband and for the purposes therein expressed.
