I Benjamin Roney have this day Bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and Convey to S. E. Dowthit and his heirs for the Consideration of Seventy dollars being the amount I paid for the following di� Land being the same I bought at public sale sold by William Rice Sheriff of Sumner County by virtue of Sundry Executions and forvith? Of Silas Fulquaner & others on this 5th day of June 1843 as the property of William Hist subject to rede..fition and the said Dowthit having paid all of the Claims & held against said tract of Land and also the said Dowthit being a Judgment Auditor For said Consideration I convey the following tract of Land in the State of Tennessee County of Sumner District No. 18 containing by estimation sixty seven acres be the same more of less and bounded as follows: Beginning on a Beech on the north side of Mac.. creek thirty eight poles to a white oak thence west eight poles to a stake thence south one hundred & twenty poles to a white oak thence with the road thirty six poles to a Spanish oak and locust on the Bank of the Creek thence with said Creek to the Beginning being a tract of Land formerly owned by William Norwell to have and to hold the same to the said S.E. Dowthit his heirs and assigns forever. I do covenant with the said S.E. Dowthit that I am lawfully seized of said Land have a good right to convey it and that the same is unencumbered. I do further covenant and bind myself my heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the said Land and any part thereof to the said S.E. Dowthit his heirs and assigns against any lawful Claims to be made by myself or any person Claiming through or re� nor further this 1st of Marcy 1845.
