We the heirs of Reuben Benson to wit Lee Perdue and Mary Perdue his wife John K. Wyatt and Phebe his wife Edward Benson, Nancy Benson and Elizabeth Benson all heirs of Reuben Benson. We have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to Alexander Benson and his heirs forever for the consideration of the sum of five hundred and fifty dollars to us in hand paid all of our interest in a tract of land in the state of Tennessee Sumner County District No. 16 on the waters of Sulphur Fork of Drakes Creek containing by estimation one hundred and forty one acres be the same more or less beginning at a hickory the NW corner of a sixty acres survey of James Wyatt running with the same east 148 1/2 poles to a post oak thence north 161 poles to a black gum hickory poplar and dogwood�(unreadable?)�then west 148 1/2 poles to a Spanish oak thence south 161 poles to the beginning to have and to hold to the same Alexander Benson his heirs and assignees forever we further bind ourshelves our heirs and title to the said Alexander Benson and his heirs and assigness forever against any claims to be made by us or our heirs or any�person claiming through or under us and that we have a good right to convey it and the same is unencumbered giving under our hands and seals this the 14 day of May 1858.

Sumner County Personally appeared before me I. F. Lambert an acting justice of the peace for said county Mary Perdue wife of Lee Perdue and Phebe Wyatt wife of John K. Wyatt separate and apart from their said husbands and acknowledged that they understood the forgoing deed fully voluntarily and understandingly without complusion or restraint from their said husband and for the purpose therein contained witnessed my hand and seal the 23 April 1867. Sumner County Personally appeared before me John L. Buss clerk of the county court of said county William J. Wyatt one of the subscribing witnesses to the within deed who being first sworn deposed and said that he is personally acquainted with Lee Perdue, John K. Wyatt, Edward Benson, Nancy Benson and Elizabeth Benson five of the bargainers and that they acknowledged in his presence that they executed the same for the purposes therein contained the other subscribing witnesses to wit John Denning being dec�his hand writing was duly proved by the oaths of M. Fikes and A. B. Denning witness my hand at office this the 11 day of March A. D. 1868. John L. Bugg clerk by I. A. Trousdale D.C. Recorded for registration 11th March 1868 at 11 o'clock A.M. Registered and examined the same day.
