In last
week’s issue of the Times, it was stated that Adeline Oldham married Levi Shoulders
and that two children blest this union.
This was an error, four children being born to Levi and Adeline. They were:
Sam Shoulders, married Mary Sutton; James Shoulders, killed by
guerrillas during the Civil War; Celia Jane Shoulders, married Graham Clark;
and Rethie Shoulders, married Jim Sutton, a brother, we believe of the Mary
Sutton above mentioned. Another error
was in giving a report that Celia Jane was first married to a Graham and later
a Clark. This was incorrect for the
reason that she married Graham Clark.
We are sorry for these errors and gladly correct same.
We are indebted to Elder Jeffie Clark of R. 1, Red Boiling Springs, for a lot of information about the descendants of Levi Shoulders, as well as for straightening out the editor on the two points above. Later we hope to publish the information he gave us on the Shoulders descendants.
