Additional Barton Information Given

We published two articles some time ago, one of them about the Barton family and the other about the Hudson family.  Since they are related, we give the following letter, which has just been received.  It will be of interest to the many Bartons and Hudsons of this section.  The letter follows:

                                                                                   817 North Garth

                                                                                   Columbia, Mo.

                                                                                   September 22, 1953.

Dear Sir:

Some time ago, early 1953, I think, you published an article in your paper on the Hudson and Barton families.  At that time you asked for any further information anyone might have.

I am a grandson of William A. Barton, the son of Rebecca Ann Hudson and her husband, Dobson Barton.  Below is a complete list of the children of William Barton and his second wife, Sarah Agnes Grant Barton.  He and his first wife, Eliza Clark, had no children, so far as I know.  The children of William A. Barton by Sarah Agnes Grant Barton were:  Mary Margaret Barton, born March 13, 1878, died July 24, 1950; Martin Andrews Barton, born January 3, 1880, died February 7, 1953; William Wallace Barton, born September 22, 1882, died March 20, 1926; Anna Hickman Barton, born December 19, 1882, and still lives; Edward Dobson Barton, born October 10, 1887, died April 29, 1948; Eva Frances Barton, born October 23, 1889, died June 11, 1952; Frank Leslie Barton, born May 9, 1893,  died August 1, 1935; and Joseph Thornton Barton, born December 12, 1895, and died in France, October 9, 1918.

Only one of the children still lives, my mother, Anna Hickman Barton, married Robert Paul Phillips.  If you noticed this corrected one line in your article, that William Wallace Barton  is not a junior.  I can give you a list of the grandchildren of William A. Barton, if you have any calls for such.

If this information should be of any help and you publish it, I would appreciate receiving a copy of your paper.

                                                                                   Sincerely yours,

                                                                                 Bob Phillips.
